My snickers commercial
Making this commercial was overall easy to do. Where each step was rather simple to do as long as you plan it out. This was one of the first film projects I had to do on my own. Where making a storyboard for how I wanted this commercial to go was good. I was able to follow it along with few mishaps. Through this, I was able to see what goes on for a commercial to happen. As this isn't a very easy task you can do within a day or two. I had to research what type of commercial I want and the conventions that go on in a snickers commercial. This helps lay the foundations for how far my creativity can go for this project. I wanted to get that comedic snickers feel where I was able to pick the costumes and actors.
For when it came down to filming, I learned a lot about the applications of different camera angles/shots and lighting. Where everything feels and looks different when it's held held compared to how it's professionally done. This definitely gave me a learning experience on failed attempts to get a scene how you want it to turn out. For when it came to editing, this is where I really learn how everything comes together. As this process changes and does so much on the clips we filmed. Where I was able to speed up and cut clips to get the scene how I wanted. Where this lead me to get the ideal 30 seconds commercial mark. When looking at my final film it looks good, but there are things I would have done differently. For example, the transitions between each clip. At the end of this project, it helped teach me more about the process of putting together a film with strict guidelines.
