Creative critical reflection questions

         1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? - My commercial uses different shot types, camera angles, camera movement, mise-en-scene, and a set of music to get a final product that's entertaining while you get an identity of the music and what it represents. The main shots used were close-ups of faces to show facial expression, mid-close-ups, and mid shots to bring a slight performance to the song being played. My music video style is narrative-based with a mixture of performance that engages my audience into a short story that plays out in a short scene. There is little-to-none diegetic sound as with the video there is little conversation exchanged where it's not important to know what they said. My music video addresses the feeling and emotions you get when you realize your friend or anyone you are close to are just using you, representing virtually any social group as long as there's some relation

My music video

I am so excited to have the complete version of my music video for you to watch. Knowing I changed this music video story and location a lot, I will explain everything now. The video begins with a pan shot of the whole park pathway. It then cuts to the two actors walking together down this path. In the same clip, the camera movement quick changes to an over the shoulder shot. There is where you capture one of the actors dismissing the other goodbye handshake. The camera then moves to a close up one of the actor's faces showing their shock in what just happened. However, he quickly dismisses it as nothing. It then cuts to a clip into the future by a few hours. It begins with a point of view of one of the actors in what they are seeing. Where he sees the actor from before talking with someone new. It then cuts to a clip to the other actor's point of view from before, where he sees the actor talking and looking at him. He see

Keeping the muisic video on the minute

I'm following almost the same process as I did for my last project. The moment I finished with the rest of my filming, I dumped all the clips onto my computer. Then I assorted all the clips out into files that correspond to each scene as I had multiple takes for each of those scenes. I then imported all of the bests takes of each scene onto my editing software. Piecing the slips together was rather easy for me. I knew ahead of time that this was a narrative based music video. So I knew exactly the order I wanted everything to be arranged in. Where I wanted the story to flow with what the music was saying. After this, I placed the scenes in their order. I then played it out to get a general sense of what to do next. After playing it the whole thing out, I confirmed that everything was in their right order. The total came out to be about a minute and 20 seconds. This made me realize that I was over the time limit. Where I needed to edit some of the time from the scenes.
