Genre Research: Parasite (2019)

Parasite is the perfect movie that combines humor, satires, heart, and thrills into the film. This is what makes it an amazing comedy/thriller movie. This is a movie that is shown to be amazing if you do not know any context. This is something I want to achieve as my Final task project is shown without a trailer. This is all due to the movie taking a keen look at class divisions while presenting unpredictable plots. It creates a suspenseful feeling that's riveting. It's all done while also telling a message about disparities of wealth in society. I also would like to incorporate realism in this movie. I want to do this by showing a plot that is real and is undeniable. I like how it expanded to the sub-genres of a thriller.
This means it's also a psychological thriller that is obvious and forced. I would like to incorporate this through events unfolding to feel mostly natural. I like how the film had one cleanest use of camera angles and lighting. I would want to follow their technique as best as I can to create a seamless transition. What I don't like is how this movie showed so much poverty. We know right from the start the difference in status everyone has. They showed too much of the struggle people faced. I do still like the storytelling through social responsibility. It showed how integrating yourself into other lives will lead to unexpected things. I want that level of unpredictability in my film.
