This all leads to a kidnapping. How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset?   - We can see a POV of someone getting

Title Research: Watch the Titles Website

Image
https://www.watchthetitles.com/titlesequence/manhunt/ Watch the Titles is a project that was established to show the wonders of art in title design and from their creators. It's a website that has a growing collection of title sequences and behind-the-scenes content. These title sequences come from films, TV shows, etc. They are offering an excellent insight into the ideas, people, and processes behind the titles. I see a well-designed website that shows title sequences and the designers and studios as well. They go in dept with everything where you truly gain a glimpse into what goes on behind a title design. I went to the featured film section and looked at the in-depth analysis of their titles. It's important because I have to put titles and a title design into my own film. This is letting me learn new ideas on what to make. In the end, this website taught me how people get inspiration and ideas on the design of the title.

Title Research: Art of the Title Website

https://www.artofthetitle.com/feature/top-10-title-sequences-of-2020/         This website is something that will be very resourceful when it comes to doing my final task. It's a website that will provide me with knowledge on developing a title sequence for my film project's opening. I have to put titles and a title design into your own film. I saw that this is an online publication that showcases title sequence design in films, TV, and other things. They create a post for each title sequence and gives an explanation on what makes it good, bad, and in between. I'm researching what makes a good title sequence in the film. I am also looking into what is generally included to make a film title sequence. I'm also seeing whether simplicity gets you the best results in making the title designs. I learned a lot on this site as it also shows title sequences from each show. It taught me how and where people get the inspiration and idea on the design of the title.

Genre Research: Arrival (2016)

Image
In Arrival, the film is about a fleet of alien spacecraft coming into the earth and hover over 12 destinations around the globe. It's a sci-fi thriller that adheres to the thrills of the mind instead of the body. The aliens, however, do not attack. They are just there. It creates the feeling of suspense that everyone feels because we don't know why they are there. It's the feeling of knowing nothing. This is what I like about the movie. It's when we are going through plots that we've never known before. This is something I would want to put into my film. The mystery and suspense of knowing something but not why or whether it would lead to anything normal. The film looks into someone having to translate their language so they can establish communication. The clock is ticking on that person doing their work. It's because they are anxious about what will happen next. At the same time, governments around

Genre Research: Gone Girl (2014)

Image
Gone Girl is a movie that incorporates thrills and mystery. It's a film that shifts and switches between what it emphasizes and its perspectives. It happens so much that it feels as you're watching short movies put together. This creates a level of unpredictability that I want in my film. Each of the mysteries is easily and randomly changed into the next. This is an aspect I also want in my film as well. This will give you a suspenseful feeling about when something will change. I find it unique is that that the villains and heroes are not the people themselves but the stories that are being told. It's a film that very self-aware. This is something I don't really like. The film does begin with a mystery that suspenseful where you know something is wrong. They do this by promoting a missing person case. It then becomes a murder investigation. It creates a feeling that no one is to be trusted. It also gives off a sense that the relationship each characte

Genre Research: Parasite (2019)

Parasite is the perfect movie that combines humor, satires, heart, and thrills into the film. This is what makes it an amazing comedy/thriller movie. This is a movie that is shown to be amazing if you do not know any context. This is something I want to achieve as my Final task project is shown without a trailer. This is all due to the movie taking a keen look at class divisions while presenting unpredictable plots. It creates a suspenseful feeling that's riveting. It's all done while also telling a message about disparities of wealth in society. I also would like to incorporate realism in this movie. I want to do this by showing a plot that is real and is undeniable. I like how it expanded to the sub-genres of a thriller.   This means it's also a psychological thriller that is obvious and forced. I would like to incorporate this through events unfolding to feel mostly natural. I like how the film had one clea

Genre Decision Blog

I wanted my film project genre to be something that strays away from the most popular type, which is action. It needed to be something that I can easily film. It also had to be easily done with the locations that close to me. I didn't want to use many props and special costumes. The lighting had to be simple with what I can do outside. It also had to be known what genre I picked for my opening sequence when it's presented to my audience. I also reviewed all the research projects that were done to learn more about many other genres. Each had its own elements that would better the filming and editing process for me. The aspects needed to make a genre also had to be limited to a small number. I don't want my actors doing too much to bring the film genre to life.  Based on all this, I ended up with two genres I really wanted to do. Those genres were thriller and horror. These were both good genres to me that each had scary and fearful emotions involved.

Genre Research: Western & Horror

Western is a genre that film uses to focus on the American west period. It uses things to emphasize drama in these films. They do this through backlighting. They also try to show an initiate conflict or bring out the setting of the film. They do this through low-keep lighting. Bright lighting is used for introduction, especially on characters. The angles are used for many reasons. High angles are used to shows someone's head and the landscape around them. Close-ups are used to bring out conflicts and characters staring each other down. The characters are also usually cowboys to highlight this era.   Horror is a genre that is meant to scare and startle the viewers and audiences for films. This is achieved through scary images, situations, and themes. The lighting plays a large part in creating fear in the audience. Different lighting is used on different characters to highlight what they are in the film. Common lighting is high key, low key, and three-point lighting. Camera angles

Genre Research: Thriller

This was a project where I researched a genre. It was here to help me learn more about the genre of thrillers and what it mainly is to films. I learned what were some common lighting in this genre. It was mainly low-key lighting. It also includes some high lighting shots. The common camera angles are high and low angles. The common shots are over the should and eye-level shots. These are basically used to create a suspenseful feeling between characters and what's happening in their location. Some common movements are tracking, handheld, tilts, and dolly. The common setting types or Mich-En-Scene are things that can create fear and suspense. These are dark setting types. These extend to the costume and makeup. It explains why the lighting is usually low. It also explains why characters have to create certain facial expressions and body language to give off suspense. There are multiple key elements when it comes down to creating a story. These elements are character growth on the m

My Pitch

Image
I wanted to base my pitches on the area I could record. This would be the area I live in and some parks and streets. This recording is all based on it being at the start of the film. These will also contain only a small number of characters. I knew I wanted to create something suspenseful. My first pitch is about someone who has a daily routine with no significant changes in their lives. It wasn't until someone bumps into them in the park and says something. This changes the person's perspectives on their life. It would ultimately lead them to something they never thought. This pitch is simple and unique to me where I like this a lot. As I don't need to show more of the story past the beginning of the film, it would suspense people. I don't particularly appreciate how this pitch has to make me record to keep people interested. My second pitch is about someone who has a fear of leaving the house. They will one day wake up somewhere like in a pa

Starting the Final Task

Hello, my name is Rolckdemsky Louis, and I'm from south Florida, U.S. I'm currently a senior at Fort Lauderdale High school, where I'm taking some rigorous classes. Some of them being Ap and Aice classes. Since the start, I've been in Aice Media Studies and learned a lot and everything I need to know in doing another film project. This means I know the rules and procedures where my work will are mine and done in a timely manner. This also means that the film project I've been recently presented to do will be done to the best of my abilities as it's a long and tedious process. I would be working by myself on this project. I have many reasons to do this as I trust myself to do everything right and how I want it to be done as working with others comes with too many extraneous variables on achieving something before it's due. It's also too hard to film with others during these times of a pandemic where people don't live clos
